We recommended to arrive well in advance (15-30 minutes) before the start of the first skating session.
On the first day, all skaters must first check in at the desk. The process will be quicker if everyone has already registered through myClub in advance. However, a small queue might still form at the desk.
Each skater will receive a name tag and other materials at the desk. The name tag should be attached to the chest with a safety pin before going on the ice.
The help desk will be available during the first couple of sessions at the start of the season.
Skaters put on their skates and get ready to go on the ice in the designated changing rooms for AH groups. Due to limited space, only one adult can accompany the child into the changing room—no strollers or siblings are allowed.
The instructors will fetch the skaters from the changing rooms and assist them in getting on the ice. It’s advisable to keep skate guards on until reaching the edge of the ice. Skating instructors and their assistants will help with getting onto the ice.
When the skating begins, all skaters gather in the center of the ice. The session will then proceed under the instructors' guidance.
During the first session, the small groups will be formed. The groups may be adjusted over the next few sessions, and as the child progresses throughout the season, their group may change. The goal is to find a suitable small group for each child where they can enjoy practicing.
Parents can watch the session from the upper bridge at Warrior Arena or from the stands at Tapiola. Parents are not allowed on the ice with or without skates. Standing by the rink’s edge is also prohibited to ensure that the child can focus on their group activities instead of watching their parent.
At the end of the skating session, instructors and assistants will help the children exit the ice and return to the changing rooms, where the parent will meet them.
